ABOUT

We are dedicated to better understanding the mechanisms underlying diseases

In particular, we are focused on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBDs), drug-induced enteropathy, obesity, aging and brain disorders. We believe that the gut can represent a common root to such diseases. To study this, we have a variety of animal and cellular models to mimic the disease and realize a better treatment option. In addition, we are connected to a large patient cohorts through the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana (AOUP).
